Check the version of your msvbvm60.dll. Version included in our Setup is 6.0.98.31.
I have found this opinion:
This problem is commonly known since 2008 with many applications using msvbvm60. There are over a 1.000 similar bug reports (appcrash) on the internet. All concerning Version 6.0.98.15 of msvbvm60.dll shipped with Windows 7. Microsoft seems not to attend to this case though they assure to fully support vb6 applications on windows 7. There would be urgently an update of msvbvm60 necessary.
At the moment the only solution is to downgrade the msvbvm60.dll to Version 6.0.98.02 shipped with Windows XP. All problems should be solved doing this.
I found the version 6.0.97.82 here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvbvm60

Hi guys,
did this resolve the problem finally?
I also wonder whether we should be including older 6.0.98.02 in the install?

The fix for windows XP does not work. As for windows 7 64bit you cannot write to the SYSWOW64 directory, therefore no downgrade is possible. The ver. of the file is set during windows installation and as far as I know you cannot change this in windows 7 64bit.
I have your software running on a laptop with no problems the msvbvm60.dll file ver. is 6.00.9815 again this is set at windows install and I cannot change it. On my desktop machine with same ver. of MSVBVM60.dll I get the Error. The radio station is running in a remote location from my home, give me a few days and I can post its ver. number.

After extensive research I found a comment about Microsoft office and the error mentioned. If you install Microsoft office the error goes away and your software works perfectly. This work around is acceptable to me and I am now happy. Thanks for the direction in your earlier post. You also might check if your running office on your machines to test the next installment of your software. Also Note: This is a old copy of office I used OFFICE 2000.
If you need any specifics from me I just ask I would be glad to post.
Thanks,
Brent
