If possible, use one piece of cable.
If not possible, I recommend that you equip both ends of cable with connectors
at the point of extension.
With other words, don't just wire the cables together
as that will represent a change of impedance and cause reflections. Use connectors.

Why the load in the antenna? My 1/4 wave I built is about 36inches long and is pretty flat across the band. (holds 50ohms pretty well too).
Really, I'm surprised to see a loaded antenna (mag mount) for FM. Maybe yours is shorter than 36inches?
