SE4 DSP Stereo Encoder 19KHz pilot output level

Post by Carlos »

Is it possible to reduce the 19KHz pilot level?. I can hear it on the radio and I think it has been increasing since I bought it.

Thank you.

I can show you which resistor to change.

Which version of the board do you have? Does it look
the same size as this:

SE4 is pretty old, huge improvement was made in the 5000 model.

There is no version printed, just the model and dated on 2005.
If you could show me the resistor I would connect a trimmer.
Thanks.

Can you at least write here the dimensions of the board so I can identify which model it is?

Hi Carlos,

behind the pilot phase trimmer towards attiny26 there is a 223 resistor, do you see it?
You can replace this with 100K trimmer and you will be able to set pilot level.

Good idea is to get precision 100K or 200K trimmer, such as this blue 10K for phase,
and glue it to the 10K with fast glue for stability.

Than you can set it practically down to zero.

Hope this helps. If not it is time to upgrade to SE 5000 DSP+, much better.
Best regards,
