STEREO ENCODER SE4 DSP+

Post by BDC »

1. We connect SE4 DSP+ with MAX PRO3 and the LCD informs ERROR, we think the pins are in correct place.
2. We do not connect the cable above. The audio signal through SE4 DSP and SE4 DSP+ and MAX PRO3 is very noisy and weak.
Please help by some advises ASAP.
Thanks

Did you connect I2C cable?

How long is the cable?

Its a bit long.

I suggest you try 2 things for a start:

1.) Make sure ground connection is correct. Now try to swap
the other two around.

2.) Try to shorten it up a bit, at least for a test.

If this fails, look at the two diodes close to eachother on the
SE4 board. Replace one of them with a low-drop shotky,
such as BAT85 or other cheap general use type.

We have now other problem. We used SE3+ stereo coder before and very satified with it. Now we have SE4 DSP+ and found that the ouput audio level is very low. The input is standard. Has anyone an advise for me?

Note that there are jumpers which let you select the output level.

Also, LCD control module or I2C cable to MP3+ must be connected in order for
stereo encoder to work.

You can quickly inspect solders on the board to see if any component is not fully soldered.

I am preparing a troubleshooting/repair guide for these units with test measuring points
so this should help you find the problem. Probably will finish it today or tomorrow.
I'll post it in the forum under manuals.
