PCI MAX 2005 Vs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS

Post by Tony »

Does anyone know of any issues with PCI MAX 2005 and the "Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS" ?

Since I installed the new sound card, there is a loud hiss in stereo transmission. It worked perfectly before when using the computers (Compaq Evo D500) own built in card.

plese help [-o<

thank you

Kinda defeats the purpose of buying a quality sound card.

It may not be as much of a quality as you think, looks like
it has some "artifacts", signals above hearing range that
weren't filtered out.

This "hiss" is originally above your hearing range. In stereo encoder
it mixes with other signals, probably 19KHz, and you can hear
the difference as a hiss.

Normally it isn't a problem since you can't hear above ~ 15-20KHz.

A low pass filter would probably help with this.
