I am considering to upgrade my system (Cyber Max LCD) in order to get More range. I am currently using a Half Wave Open Dipole Arial tuned on 93.3 FM. The arial is mounted on a very high building in the middle of the island (Malta) and we get very good coverage but there is an other station from ITaly on the same frequency which has a lot of power. Therefore our signal dies out as you move far away due to the other station. I am considering to buy an Amplifier, maby 40W. But my concern is if i hook up the amlifier will there be more bandwidth? Because i do not want to run the risk of getting a lot of bandwith coz there are other stations nearby.
Thanks

The transmitter alone will not be "more wide".
It is however a sad truth; radio receivers are not perfect.
This means that as the power at the input of a receiver increases
they start to be affected by those signals out of their received
channel. How much of a problem this might be in your case
is hard to say. Those with crappy receivers may suffer, so its
best to check it with one of those crapy radio alarm clocks.
By the way, 4x the power gives you roughly 2x the range.
