Description

Qsonic PLL/VCO, excellent bass response, fast lock!

The new MAX PRO 8000+ series FM exciters are fine-tuned, optimized and improved version of MAXPRO7015. They bring even better S/N ratio and MAXLINK II interface for easy no-soldering wiring to the new SE8000 DSP+ stereo encoder. Depending on the model they feature 15W, 25W, 50W or 100W of very clean power, QSonic VCO/PLL subsystem and everything else the previous 7015+ model had to offer.

Exciter carries a two year limited warranty on parts and labor against defects in materials and workmanship, except the RF final transistor. Please ensure very good cooling particularly for 50W and 100W model, requires a good fan and metal enclosure for dissipation.

You can find the manual for this (and other products) here.

How is MAXPRO8000 series better than MAXPRO7000 series?
– Supports previous MAXLINKI and new MAXLINK II for easy interfacing with the new SE8000 DSP+ without soldering
– MPX cable no longer needed for connection to new stereo encoders (Such as SE8000 DSP+).
– VU meter signals wired through MAXLINK II and LCD display flat cable which simplifies wiring considerably
– Further Improved S/N ratio across the band, designed for maximum spurious signal rejection (>80dBc). Some high-end customers appreciate this feature. Depending on operating frequency dBc can be >95dB down relative to the carrier.
– Self-resetting electronic PTC fuse (no more pesky fuse replacements) for 15W and 25W models.

What parameters can I change via remote control?
Its best that you look at the screen capture below. The program may change over time as we make enhancements, we will be adding more features soon! Feel free to ask for any features you may want. Note with OLED display remote control is done via web browser and does not require any software, just a connection to local network via Ethernet.

Can I upgrade my old CyberMaxFM+ 15W transmitter with new exciter?
Sure, just exchange the boards, take the 5000+ out and replace it with 8015. But if you also have stereo encoder you’ll have to upgrade to SE8000 or better as well.

Technical specifications:
– RF Output Power: 0 to 100 Watts, LCD power adjustment range can also be limited to 0-1W, 0-2W, 0-3W, 0-4W … 0-15W, 0-full, this is done with a jumper (exact options vary depending on model).
– Output connector: BNC female
– Output Impedance: 50 Ohms
– Frequency range: 87.5-108MHz
– PLL Steps: 50KHz-500KHz, adjustable
– Frequency stability: +/- 20Hz
– Spurious/Harmonic rejection: Harmonics: >50dB, Spurious: (>80dB for MAXPRO8015)
– Power Supply 15W: 13-15V/3A or car battery
– Power Supply 25W: 13-15V/5A or car battery
– Power Supply 50W: 13-15V/8A or car battery
– Power Supply 100W: 14-15V/12A or car battery
– Power connector: New design with plugin with 2 screw terminals or standard barrel type
– Quartz Locked PLL Frequency Control
– Ultra Stable, Ultra Clean Output
– No Expensive Test Equipment Required
– Audio performance: Less than 0.1% distortion, 20Hz-75KHz
– RF output ruggedness: SWR protection
– Polarity protection, temp protection
– Pre-emphasis, 50uS, 75uS or none
– Audio Input Impedance: 10Kohm, unbalanced
– Audio Input Level: 0 dB
– S/N ratio: >90 dB
– PC Board Size 15W: 100x125mm
– Audio connectors: 2 pins and solder pads, MAXLINK II
– RF monitor: solder pads

What is the Predrilled LCD front panel?
– This is a rectangular piece of aluminum with predrilled holes for LCD display, button and LED diodes. It also has 4 holes in the corner so you can easily mount this to your case. This makes it much easier to mount the transmitter into a nice looking case (eliminates the hard work with the LCD). This is of course an optional item.

Advanced graphics display with VU meter and web control interface
This is our new advanced high performance graphics OLED display with many incredible new features that older units did not support. First of all, it offers a large graphics OLED display, it connects to internet via Ethernet and than lets you control the unit via web browser (no windows software needed anymore), it lets you update firmware of the display and attached modules which before was not possible, each display comes with two-color bright VU meter, rotary button, and aluminum front panel with plexi-glass. Advanced menu system lets you set everything either from the display itself or the web interface. This is of course an optional item. For extensive manual look down under Additional Information tab. Any questions send us an email.

What is included with this new graphics display?
– Graphics display that allows you to set everything including RDS info
– LED VU meter
– Easy-mount front panel with printed plexi transparent cover
– Ethernet + USB IO board for remote control and firmware updating
– Rotary button, aluminum, black
Warning, flat cable for this new display is not reversed!

What is MPX audio input board (RCA+XLR+ 192KHz USB) + 20cm flat cable?
– Rather than the BNC MPX input as before all MPX input models now have:
– RCA and balanced XLR inputs
– USB audio input supporting 192KHz sample rate!
– The usual BNC as before (signal is now passed through extra limiter low pass filter)
– Board can be configured to pass full MPX or limit at 15KHz (for mono operation) with a jumper.
– Extra limiter stage for MPX input
– Extra MPX low pass filter
– MPX level trimmer accesible through hole next to XLR connector (you can adjust MPX level/ deviation without opening up the transmitter

The result with this board is completely noise-free audio in any possible configuration. Important: This board is only recommended when you do not use SE8000 stereo encoder! When you have stereo encoder you do not need it!

What is that switch with LED diode?
MAXPRO8015+ is delivered without ON/OFF switch, there is a jumper that can be
removed and connected to the switch. This is the switch we use in our 19″ racks,
it also has a built-in LED diode for better effect. Instructions on wiring
this switch are shown on the main board. This is of course an optional item.

What is the RS232 IO board and why do I need it?
IO board is required, if you want to control MAXPRO8015+ remotely via RS232.
It plugs into the LCD control module. RS232 cable is not included.

What is the IO board with 3x BNC connectors and why do I need it?
IO board is required, if you want to control MAXPRO8015+ remotely via USB, RS232 or GSM.
The module plugs into the LCD control module. USB/RS232 cable is not included (standard cable is available everywhere). The three BNC cables can be used for MPX in, MPX out and 19KHz when used with stereo encoder. Optional item.

What is the Ethernet remote control module for?
This add-on card lets you connect this transmitter to the PC via Ethernet network. You can control and monitor the status of your transmitter over Ethernet or Internet. This is of course an optional item.

What is the GSM remote control module for?
This module plugs into IO board (RS232) and lets you control and monitor this transmitter via GSM phone with SMS messages or Android app. This is of course an optional item.

What is the Software+IOBOARD for changing logo?
This is a combination of special unlocked version of software and RS232 IO board,
which is required to control MAXPRO8015+ remotely via PC/RS232. It plugs into
the LCD control module. Software lets you change welcome text (logo); you can
replace that text with your company name for example. Your customized text will
be saved and used at every power-up. This is of course an optional item.

What else should I buy to construct a big 500W or 1000W or higher transmitter?
We really recommend these items to all users:
– Any of these pallets here, a power supply for these can be purchased here, don’t forget a filter (LPFMAX series is ideal).
– Stereo encoder, any of these will do. SE8000 is ideal due to MAXLINK II.
– A rack
enclosure
from 1H to 3H, with fans, accessories and more…
– Use PTFE RG142 50 ohm coax for internal connections inside your rack (PTFE coax is easier to work with, it does not melt when hot). Make sure all coaxial cable leads are very short.
