Description

LPFMAX 1K5+ 1500W FM LPF with DC couplers (DIGIAMP optional)

Based on PTFE laminate, with PCB caps, perfectly flat for easy mounting, improved layout and with power and reflected power meters. Mounts with screws directly to the heatsink. 1500W Low Pass filter that easily mates with our DIGIAMP breakout board, built for our MAX PRO series exciters. When used with DIGIAMP breakout board the DIGIAMP interconnect system enables easy integration into a FM transmitter. All it takes is one flat cable (DIGIAMP). This connection enables measurement of SWR and Power, amplifier supply voltage, current and temperature. It also provides SWR protection and automatic output level limiting. Of course it also includes low pass filter as RF amplifiers produce harmonics at even multiples of fundamental frequency. If your harmonics fall on or near a TV channel or Maritime frequency you could cause severe interference to that channel. The most common cause of fines from federal agencies is due to TVI or other interference from your transmitter which generates a complaint. Use of this low pass filter is the best method of eliminating this kind of interference. The low insertion loss of this filters makes them well suited for use at power levels as low as 1 watt on up to 1500 watts and more!

These units are constructed using high-quality PTFE laminate and silver-plated coil wire! SWR and PWR voltages are provided for power/swr measuring purpose. Directional couplers are frequency compensated and give flat reading across entire frequency band. A perfect companion for the pallet amplifiers, offering output filtering, power and reflected power reading and with DIGIAMP  breakout board also swr, over-drive, over-current and temp protection!

Fits directly into our 800W ampbox, when used with our ampbox the output N connector can be directly soldered to the filter without any cable necessary.

Use with MAXPRO FM exciter:
– Connect input and output with RG-142 or similar PTFE coaxial cable.
– Mount to heatsink with screws, best done with our 800W ampbox.
– Connect with digiamp cable to our exciter
– Set all protection/limit trimmers to off first
– Set power/SWR trimmers for correct reading on LCD
– Now set tx to max intended power (for example 500W), than adjust SWR protection, power limit and current limit trimmers to the point where they almost start to reduce output power

Use without our FM exciter:
– Connect input and output with RG-142 or similar PTFE coaxial cable.
– Mount to heatsink with screws, best done with our 800W ampbox.
– Connect bias disable PAD on the filter to your pallet’s bias voltage so that filter’s protection circuit can pull bias voltage down. See all the photos for this product to understand how ALC works. Each pallet is a bit different so we can’t tell you exactly how.
– Set all protection/limit trimmers to off first
– Set power/SWR trimmers for correct reading on LCD
– Now set tx to max intended power (for example 500W), than adjust SWR protection, power limit and current limit trimmers to the point where they almost start to reduce output power
